<image:caption>Growing up on the mean streets of northern New Jersey, we had to graphic design or die trying. I have taken that mostly fictitious backstory and molded it into a dedication, to making great graphic design. But don’t take my word for it…</image:caption>

<image:caption>I am responsible for designing none of the following, though the work was all done in classes that I taught. I have been a graphic design teacher for over a decade and I am still in awe of the amazing work that my students produce day in and day out. The opportunity to work with emerging designers is as inspiring as it is affirming. Being a teacher rules!</image:caption>

<image:title>About Nick - MEET NIck… & jack!</image:title>
<image:caption>“Hello.” Prior to joining the faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology, I worked for 12 years in the areas of graphic design, web development, college counseling, marketing, and communications. My research interests focus on "shock" advertising, cause-related marketing, and conceptually based graphic design. I am a freelance graphic designer and have done work for agencies, in-house design teams, and independent projects for business owners and authors. In the classroom, I teach courses in computer graphics, web design, branding, art/design history, package design and the capstone course for graphic design majors, just to name a few. I teach both in traditional and virtual classrooms and have developed curriculum for both environments. My students have won numerous awards at the local, regional, national, and international levels and their work has been featured in various publications. I am the faculty advisor to our student AIGA chapter, and I serve on various committees at Penn College. My graphic design work has won awards from the DC Ad Club, The Greater Frederick American Advertising Federation, The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and College & University Public Relations and Associated Professionals. My work has been published in American Graphic Design and Advertising (Collins Design, 2009 & 2014), American Corporate ID (Collins Design, 2007) The New Big Book of Layouts (Harper Design, 2009), Designing for the Greater Good: The Best in Cause-Related Marketing and Nonprofit Design (Harper Design, 2010), Designer Magazine (2008) and Create Magazine (2006). In 2017, I was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award from Pennsylvania College of Technology. When away from all things graphic design I enjoy spending time with my wife and son (pictured in the owl hat), reading, playing the occasional video game, and restoring the 1968 Honda CT90 that is sitting in pieces in my garage. I hold an MFA in Visual Arts: Graphic Design from Marywood University and bachelor’s degrees in Creative Writing and Graphic Design from Susquehanna University.</image:caption>
